This cheese carries the Mornington Peninsula in every bite: salt air, green hills, and a herd of well-loved goats.

Caprino is Main Ridge Dairy’s firm, Romano-style goat’s cheese, matured for over six months for a clean, savoury bite with gentle sweetness and a nutty finish. There’s a bright citrus lift up front,  quite refreshing for a goat’s cheese. It's versatile, too: slice for the cheeseboard, or grate finely over pasta where it melts into silky, salty-sweet depth.

Made on the farm at Main Ridge from milk collected just metres from the make room, Caprino reflects a true paddock-to-plate approach. In 2025, it earned Gold at the Australian Food Awards—a proud moment for a small, determined team.

Pairing Suggestions:

  • Crisp whites (Pinot Grigio, dry Riesling) or a light red like Pinot Noir—great with Caprino’s savoury, nutty finish.
  • Fresh or dried fruit and toasted nuts for contrast.
  • Grate over pasta, risotto, or roasted vegetables for a glossy, umami lift.
  • Excellent with spicy snacks such as salt grilled shishito/padron chilis
