Milawa Cheese Company began in 1988, when David and Annie Brown swapped the city grind for life in Victoria’s High Country. They bought an old butter factory and, together with David’s childhood friend and cheesemaker Richard Thomas, set out to do something bold — craft Australia’s first small-batch blue cheese.
These days, their daughter Ceridwen carries on the family legacy, handcrafting award-winning cow and goat’s milk cheeses with the same passion and care. Milawa’s blues continue to win gold across the country.
